I am the owner and occupational therapist at Pediatric Playhouse LLC. I have been practicing since 2016. My experience is working with families and multi disciplinary teams in schools and outpatient clinics. I have always dreamed of owning a small business and I am thrilled to see that dream come true. As a therapist, I specialize in working with children who experience sensory processing challenges that impact their daily participation.

Sensory processing difficulties can make the simplest daily tasks seem daunting. My goal is to educate children and families so that they can feel empowered to handle the day ahead of them!

In my free time, you can catch me spending time with my husband and our aussiedoodle Obi! We love to go on hikes, play board games, and check out local breweries.

My Education & Philosophy

"Play is the work of childhood"- Jean Piaget

I have always enjoyed working with children- since I was a child myself. I grew up on a street with two daycares and spent many summer days helping my neighbors take care of the younger children in the group. When considering a career I loved the holistic nature of occupational therapy. It has been said that occupational therapy is the perfect blend of art and science, and I completely agree!

I have a bachelor's degree in psychology from Creighton University and a Master's in Occupational Therapy from the University of Minnesota. Since 2016, I have gained experience in school and pediatric outpatient settings. I have training in the SOS Approach to Feeding and use that along with the Get Permission Approach to Feeding in my practice. I am trained in therapeutic listening, sensory processing disorders, and have taken courses on trauma informed care.

My philosophy to treatment is family oriented and culturally centered. I work with you to explore how occupational therapy can positively impact your child and your family. I believe in building a strong foundation of social emotional and sensory processing skills. These are skills that will serve your child throughout their lifetime and aide in the learning process. I utilize a holistic approach to treatment, considering the whole child and family system. Occupational therapy does cover a wide range of skills but I believe it's important to have other knowledgable professions on your child's team. For this reason, I enjoy working with other professionals.

Occupational therapy services provided by Pediatric Playhouse are play based and will be provided in office at Dandelion Spirit in Eagan or New Hope. Telehealth sessions are also available if you'd like to work on skills in your child's natural environment.
